Safe-vehicle will give you and your drivers peace of mind that their lorries have been inspected before each trip and that they are safe to use.

By using the checklist, developed in conjunction with the RTITB, the driver can inspect each of the components of the vehicle to ensure its safety. Whilst completing the checklist a copy is automatically created on the duplicate page in the pad.

Assuming that the vehicle passes the inspection, the top copy of the checklist can be either be placed in the transport office or folded in half to display its green reverse and placed inside the safety status indicator on the windscreen of the vehicle. The pad can also either be returned to the transport office or held in the cab.

If a problem had been identified, then the pass should be given to the maintenance team and the vehicle left to show that it is unsafe to use.
